Laura Santamaria

Dr Laura Santamaria, Founder and Editor in Chief, works at the intersection of culture, meaning and social transformation. Her work challenges and reshapes how meaning, power and agency operate across cultural, technological and environmental systems. Her research on Design for Empowerment explores how design can facilitate transformative social change through power analysis and collective narratives, with a forthcoming book to be published by Bloomsbury in 2026. She founded Sublime Magazine as a platform for 'rewilding the public imagination' by challenging dominant consumerist narratives and expanding our collective sense of what is possible. Laura leads research at the Royal College of Art's School of Communication, is a Design Council Design for Planet expert, and advises on European policy as a BEDA Eco and Planetary expert.
