Wear Your Heart On Your… Pocket

In time for London Fashion week esteemed Italian car brand Alfa Romeo have collaborated with London fashion label PPQ to design six unique pocket squares in aid of Heart Research UK. It is style with a heart; appropriate seeing as the Alfa Romeo catchphrase is ‘without heart, we would be mere machines.’ Pocket squares have become a staple feature for high end fashion houses, with Dolce & Gabbana, Dunhill, Hermes and Louis Vuitton including them in recent collections.

What’s the occasion? It is the 50 year anniversary of Alfa Romeo’s iconic Giulia car. Staying loyal to their roots, each pocket square is handmade in Italy using 100% pure silk sourced from the surrounding region.

As Percy Parker, co-founder and designer at PPQ, says: ‘Pocket squares add colour and individuality to any formalwear. From business suits to black tie, they’re a must-have accessory for any well-heeled gentleman. With these limited edition Alfa pocket squares, now you can look the part, whilst benefitting a great cause.’

The pocket square design collaborations include Janine Clark, Alfa Romeo’s 2012 Young Designer Of The Year, and an unlikely trio mainly known for their day jobs; these include Dragons Den’s very own Peter Jones CBE, Team GB’s long jumper Chris Tomlinson and finally actor Tom Ellis from BBC’s EastEnders and Pulling. The collection is simple and tasteful, working from a minimal palette of contrasting block colours. Each scarf has its own source of inspiration and its own story unique to the designer.

Only 6,000 Alfa Romeo pocket squares have been made so grab them now online at alfaromeo.co.uk and participating Alfa Romeo showrooms. Each pocket square is priced at £14.99.
