Carla Busularo, a textile designer and jeweller, blends techniques and materials to create contemporary jewellery that blurs the line between art and craftsmanship
In a world where fashion grows increasingly transient, there are those who strive to create designs that endure while enabling personal expression and individuality. Carla Busularo, a textile designer and artist, is one such visionary. Specialising in contemporary jewellery, she seamlessly blends the boundaries between art and craft, creating pieces that are as timeless as they are unique.
Born in San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Argentina, Carla moved to Buenos Aires at the age of 21 to study Textile Design at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). By 2000, she was designing for the textile industry, leaving her mark on Argentine fashion and design. In 2012, Carla launched her own brand, Busularo, a deeply personal project that reimagines textiles as a raw material for jewellery creation. With a rebellious and passionate spirit, she became a pioneer in the use of textiles within contemporary jewellery.
Her designs draw inspiration from sacred geometry, architecture, art, and social messaging. By employing intricate techniques such as hand-knitting, embroidery, origami, crochet, and macramé, each piece reflects unparalleled dedication and artistry. Her thoughtful choice of materials and meticulous combination of techniques showcase her commitment to her craft, resulting in jewellery with a distinct personality.

Every collection is a manifestation of Carla’s vision, brought to life through her artisan hands. Each piece tells its own story, becoming a portable work of art. In an era dominated by uniformity, the pursuit of personal expression is a growing desire, and Busularo’s designs offer a tangible way to fulfil this need.
In her latest collection, Carla highlights the power of creative women. Her Sorority Collection is centred around a guiding colour, chosen to embody her social message. This collection celebrates female strength, diversity, and unity, expressing the belief that women can achieve shared goals through collective support.
Carla incorporates organic shapes, vibrant colours, varied textures, and symbolic elements to represent the diversity and creativity of women. “Knitting as a weave reflects the building of a new social network, one with greater commitment and deeper impact,” she explains.
Over the years, Carla’s dedication to her craft has organically shaped her personal identity and creative hallmark, making her jewellery distinct and exceptional. Her designs are tangible extensions of her creative essence, transforming textiles into wearable works of art. She emphasises that creating a unique identity requires an ongoing process of experimentation and self-expression.
“Each piece contains everything of me: my experiences, my essence, the hours I’ve spent meditating, my passion, my love, my playful lifestyle, and my trained eye for design, art, and clothing,” Carla reflects.
Carla invites us to deconstruct preconceived notions and generate new meanings through her designs, which bridge conceptual art and craftsmanship. Textiles remain the core of her work, offering tactile and deeply considered experiences through her creations.
Busularo is more than a brand—it’s a conceptual movement rooted in sustainable and thoughtful values. Each piece invites us to reflect on the impact of what we wear and consume. In a world of fast and disposable fashion, Carla’s creations are a powerful reminder that fashion can be both a vehicle for art and a means of personal expression.
