Bridging the best of South African fashion and London Fashion Week
MERGE ZA is the first travelling showroom, which brings the best of South African fashion designers and contemporary material culture to London Fashion Week. It was founded by fashion designer Celeste Lee Arendse and creative consultant Lilian Schulze, with the vision to build a sustainable fashion industry, in South Africa and beyond. Armed with the intention to inspire and drive innovation, MERGE ZA adds a South African voice and distinctive style to the global discourse on fashion.
With a packed cultural programme, MERGE ZA hosts experimental showrooms in an urban hotspot, leveraging partnerships and collaborations with buyers, designers, creatives, media, academia and much more. It provides emergent fashion designers with an opportunity to enter the global fashion market, and for international professionals to connect with South African talents. The first collective of curated designes are Rich Mnisi, Lukhanyo Mdingi, Selfi, Young & Lazy, Wanda Lephoto.
Visit us from 15th to 20th September at Tank gallery space in London W1W 7NX to meet our designers, see their work and participate in our series of events – showroom, panel debates, music.
