#GenerationC

Today is the day, it is arguably a monumental moment in British history. Huge crowds of young students (#GenerationClimate) skip school to gather together on strike against what they believe is the most crucial problem of our times.

Our climate crisis has seen a recent surge in mass movement from passionate and concerned young activists, particularly since the first Extinction Rebellion protest in October 2018; a social movement which has rapidly caught fire in recent months and has greatly influenced the minds and hearts of millions.

“You say you love your children above all else, and yet you are stealing their future in front of their very eyes. We have run out of excuses and we are running out of time. We have come here to let you know that change is coming, whether you like it or not. The real power belongs to the people. – Greta Thunberg

“#FridaysForFuture is a movement that began in August 2018, after 15 years old Greta Thunberg sat in front of the Swedish parliament every schoolday for three weeks, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis. She posted what she was doing on Instagram and Twitter and it soon went viral.”

Together, Extinction Rebellion (XR) and Youth Strike 4 Climate (run by UK Youth Climate Coalition) are continuing to hold the torch to a new world; leading a wave of environmentally conscious planet protectors; we name this as Generation C.

A beautiful day to march and claim your future!
