Weleda’s products are build upon the concept of anthroposophic medicine inspired by Rudolf Steiner. All ingredients used by Weleda are naturally sourced and the final result is natural cosmetics and remedies that support the body from the inside and encourage self-recovery.
The assortment of Weleda ranges from healthcare to beauty, from products for babies to wellness sets. Newly launched is a line of body lotions that indulges the skin and inspires the senses The new line is not only good to the skin, but also eco-friendly and suistainable. And I am not talking about the organic and natural ingredients of the lotions but about the packaging, for which Weleda’s new launch has been awarded by the iF.
The iF – International Forum Design – bestows awards in the areas product design, communication design and packaging design. iF states that packaging is much more than just a wrap. It strengthens the image of a brand, embodies their focuses such as sustainability or usability and is a value itself. Therefore good packaging deserves attention and an award.
The packaging of the new Weleda body lotion line is based on the pioneering eco-friendly bag-in-bottle (BIB) technology. This new system ensures optimum protection, comfortable handling and most importantly high neutrality and full recyclability. Because of the use of this technology and the fact that iF is looking for more than just a nice design, Weleda got nominated for an iF packaging design award – and has won.
So Weleda is not only a winner in terms of their products but also in terms of their packaging, which is so much more than a wrap. The body lotion comes in four varieties; Citrus Hydrating Body Lotion, Wild Rose Pampering Body Lotion, Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion and Pomegranate Regeneration Body Lotion. Suitable for various skin types the NATRUE-certified lotions nurture and scent the body. They are made of organic oils from seeds and fruits such as pomegranate, wild rose hips and sea buckthorn berries.
