Unwrap the magic of an EcoXmas celebration, as Sublime unveils a collection of mindful gift ideas from leading sustainable brands.

El Camino Bracelets

It can be tricky finding a gift for someone who loves to travel, that they will treasure and take with them as they roam. However, the clever team at El Camino have created the perfect Christmas gift for those more drawn to wanderlust than window shopping. An El Camino bracelet is ideal for travel lovers as each bracelet is bespoke, so can feature all the destinations they’ve explored as well as those still to visit – making an El Camino the most thoughtful and unique gift you can give to someone always planning their next journey.

No two El Camino’s are the same, as every El Camino bracelet is individually curated, and all El Camino bracelets and necklaces are handmade in the UK. Available in a variety of colours and made from durable and sustainably sourced materials, each can be adorned with vivid or more subtle beads, and cylindrical Steps that tell tales of places visited, favourite countries, or even personal milestones and challenges overcome.

Commemorate everything from climbing mountains to oceans sailed, or add a stainless steel customised Step to enshrine a personal motto, or when you gifted the El Camino Bracelet. There’s even a Merry Christmas Step!

El Camino Bracelets prices start from £26.99 for bracelets, £34.99 for necklaces, and Steps from £10.49.

As the business was born in the festive period, almost ten years ago, El Camino is dedicated to spreading Christmas cheer on the sales front too. The final order date for Christmas delivery is 10am on 21st December, though e-vouchers are available to purchase until midnight on Christmas Eve.

Y.O.U Underwear

An ethical, sustainable underwear brand based in the heart of Oxford. Y.O.U stands for Your Own Underwear, as they believe everyone deserves exactly that. Their mission is to keep girls in school and empower women, changing the world one pair of pants at a time! Y.O.U Underwear’s story began when founder Sarah Jordan volunteered in Uganda in 2016 as part of the Uganda Marathon programme.

While she was there, she came face-to-face with the problems associated with not having underwear. In some communities 1 in 10 girls miss school on their periods due to a lack of underwear and sanitary products, up to 12 weeks a year, with a huge impact on their education and life.

This inspired Sarah to found Y.O.U Underwear with a buy-one-give-two model to provide underwear to vulnerable women and girls in Uganda and around the world. Since launching in 2018, Y.O.U Underwear has grown from a small online business to a permanent shop in Oxford’s Historic Covered market. They sell an inclusive range of

Fairtrade and GOTS certified organic cotton underwear for men, women and girls in UK sizes 6-22 and strongly support body positivity in all their ranges- always using real models and never airbrushing any of their images. What’s more, they are the highest scoring B Corp in the UK and top-scoring fashion B Corp globally!
They also turn their mailing bags into earrings, have a circular model to keep undies out of landfill, and have transformed their shop into a hub for local makers who share their values, as well as a charity donation point.

The Rock Hound

Gemmologist Jeweller, The Rock Hound, is known for bringing the ethics to aesthetics, using responsibly sourced, raw materials to create striking design-led jewellery. Playful hues frame bold gemstones and organic, flowing forms create offbeat pairings. Always holding ethics at its core, Susi Smither FGA, GIA JDT launched the brand in 2015, soon after becoming a proud Fairtrade Gold licensee.

Susi seeks artisan lapidaries and gemstone sources around the globe which match her ethos. She combines traditional techniques with state-of-the-art technology allowing her to really push design boundaries.
Susi has received multiple industry accolades in the UK and US: UK Jewellery Awards’ New Designer of the Year 2017; International Jewellery London 2017’s Editors’ Choice Award for Technical Trailblazer; Top Three among the Rising Stars in the Design Center at JCK Las Vegas 2018 and shortlisted for Professional Jeweller’s Ethical Collection of the Year in 2017 and 2019.

She’s been a member of Fair Luxury since 2019 – a collaboration of jewellery industry changemakers with a vision for a responsible and sustainable future through educating and advocating change.
Earlier this year, after fifteen years’ experience in the jewellery trade, Susi was made Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths – or Goldsmiths’ Company – one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London with a 700-year history of supporting jewellers and their trade – and protecting consumers by testing and hallmarking.

For those wanting to gift consciously this Christmas, but looking for an entry price into handmade jewellery, The Rock Hound has produced a more affordable line (£130 – £320) in recycled silver from discarded NHS and veterinary X-rays. A perfect example of circularity, where all involved benefit.
The pendants are exact replicas of a quartz wand cast through the lost wax casting process and cast from 42g of the recycled silver, then covered with a flash of nano-ceramic colour. All pieces within the range take inspiration from natural crystal formations.

HotRocks is also sold in Selfridges London in their ethical and sustainable jewellery department, and was the exclusive jewellery worn by Hayley Atwell at the British Independent Film Awards.
