With only a quartet of perfumes and scented candles, Ormonde Jayne’s doors opened on November 29, 2001 in The Royal Arcade. Unique fragrances, with many rare ingredients from around the world, used in concentrations never smelt before.
Extraordinary ingredients, high-quality oils and magical dry downs had Londoners spellbound. After news spread quickly, queues spilled out of the boutique into Old Bond Street. Enchanted by the unfamiliar complex formulations and beautiful scents, The Royal Arcade because a must for perfume lovers and visiting celebrities including Goldie Hawn, Elton John, Yasmin le Bon, Bryan Ferry and Emma Thompson.
Ormonde Jayne now quietly boasts a library of 4 perfume collections with over 40 fragrances and 400 points of sale around the world. British manufacturing and craftsmanship will always be non-negotiable, with every candle and perfume created and hand poured at Ormonde Jayne’s private studio in Kent. The perfume collections have been gender free since 2005.
A brand new flagship store has just opened its doors, with a floor space 4 times larger. Remaining in The Royal Arcade, the boutique will enable innovative new retail experiences to take place in-store: Try Scent Strength Style, which includes a fragrance consultation, and a personalised bottle in a choice of colours, with an engraved overcap, served with English sparkling wine…and it’s refillable!
