Wayne Hemingway

Wayne is a regular columnist for Sublime. He is co-founder of fashion label Red or Dead and in 1999 he set up his own fashion consultancy, HemingwayDesign joining forces with building firm Wimpey to work on various housing projects specialising in affordable and social design. He is now patron of the UK's leading sustainable transport charity 'Sustrans'.

Jeremy Leggett

Jeremy Leggett is founder and chairman of SolarCentury. From 2002-6 he was a member of the UK Government’s Renewables Advisory Board. He has worked in the oil industry, among other things researching oil source rocks funded by BP and Shell, and in the environment movement, where he won the US Climate Institute’s Award for Advancing Understanding. He has recently been appointed a CNN ‘Principal Voice’.

Dr Frances Corner

Dr Frances Corner is a regular columnist for Sublime Magazine. As Head of London College of Fashion, Frances has recently pioneered the adoption of sustainable and ethical practice into the fashion education curriculum, creating the college's first Centre for Sustainable Fashion.

Stephen Armstrong

Stephen Armstrong is a journalist and broadcaster. He writes about arts and culture for the Sunday Times, The Guardian, GQ and Wallpaper. He writes about current affairs for the New Statesmen. He is a presenter on Radio 4 and guest on Newsnight Review. His first book - The White Island - was published by Trasnworld in 2005.

Hanspeter Kuenzler

Hanspeter Kuenzler left Switzerland due to the usual musical differences and arrived in London just as Rip Rig & Panic were tearing up the rule books. He stumbled into journalism more by luck than design. He has been earning his CD tokens by writing about music in particular and the arts in general ever since. Today, his features appear regularly in Switzerland's Neue Zürcher Zeitung, NZZ am Sonntag, Du, Annabelle, and Germany's Musik Express. For several years he produced and presented a weekly music show on the BBC World Service, and he appears frequently on Radio DRS in Switzerland.

Alan Mann

Alan Mann is a Bristol-based writer and stay-at home dad. Aside from his regular contributions to Sublime, he has worked for a number of charities and written on such diverse subjects as faith and culture, social justice, parenting, personal and spiritual development, and sustainable living. He campaigns on water poverty issues, is a trustee of a development charity, and has a growing interest in permaculture.

Jen Marsden

Jen Marsden is a London based writer and editor on all matters in the green arena. A former editor of New Consumer magazine, she has edited and contributed to a wide range of ethical lifestyle publications and is currently the Home & Lifestyle Editor of Green Guide. A keen traveller, Jen has lived abroad and worked on various charitable and sustainable business projects in India and Kenya. She has written and edited her first book Green Guide for Weddings, an imprint of Markham Publishing. Her forthcoming publications in this lifestyle book series are Green Guide for Home & Household and Green Guide to Fashion & Beauty.

Tom Savage

Tom Savage, who has founded several green businesses, is the managing director and co-founder of Bright Green Talent. Tom received undergraduate and post-grad degrees in business and management from Edinburgh and Oxford. After turning down funding to continue with a Ph.D. at Oxford, and being frustrated after a short stint in investment banking, Tom took off on his own to pursue his passion for green business and started Blue Ventures, a social enterprise which runs global conservation projects in 2002. In 2005, BV won the SEED Awards at the UN and the 2007 UN Equator Prize, as well as four Responsible Travel Awards and a Skal Eco-tourism award. In 2005 Tom also founded Tiptheplanet (www.tiptheplanet.com) a green wiki site. In 2006, Tom ran Social Enterprise Day for the Cabinet Office, guest-editing their "Trailblazers Magazine" and advising the new minister for the Third Sector, as well as co-founding a new internationally acclaimed social enterprise, Make Your Mark with a Tenner. Tom co-founded Bright Green Talent in 2006. In 2007, Tom received the 'Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year' award. He was also selected as one of 30 'Everyday Heroes' in the British Prime Minister's book of the same title, with a chapter dedicated to his work. Tom also was recently named one of Striding Out's Future 100 Young Entrepreneurs; one of the 'Enterprising Young Brits' and one of the 35 Young Guns by 'Growing Business' magazine for which he was the only social entrepreneur listed.

Jenny Page

Jenny has worked in book publishing, both in-house and freelance, for almost twenty years. She loves text, textiles and beauty products, and is a subeditor and beauty editor with Sublime.

Piero

Piero has been working in London as an illustrator, animator and photographer since 1997. His work has been included in the Royal Collage of Art's 'The Best of British illustration'. He illustrated many books of the series Introducing such as Introducing Anthropology, Psychiatry, Niesztche, Shakespeare, etc. and has produced award winning illustrations for several magazines and newspapers.

Giovanna Dunmall

Giovanna is a freelance writer who has been writing for over ten years. She has a long-standing interest in sustainability and ethical consumerism but also writes about travel, design and architecture. She is half Italian and half English and has just finished writing the Wallpaper* guide to Venice. She has lived in Brussels, Venice and Rome and worked for several years as an associate editor on COLORS magazine under the editorship of Benetton photographer Oliviero Toscani.

Samantha Davis

Samantha is currently studying Fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. As well as making regular contributions to the film and fashion sections of Sublime Magazine, Samantha also has a great passion for travel and a desire to learn about new cultures and ways of thinking.

Jonathan Fordham

Jonathan graduated with a Masters Degree in Modern Literature from the University of Kent, then ran his own business selling vintage vinyl and secondhand books. After moving to London he began to freelance for the publishing industry. His interests include writing and performing poetry, being part of an allotment co-operative growing organic food and helping to run a creativity and spirituality group for the homeless called Open Space.

Io Takemura

Japanese stylist Io Takemura has been working with Sublime since 2008. Winner of the 'Eco Japan Cup' in 2006, Io is the first professional UK based stylist working solely with ethical brands. In October 2008 she styled 'Fashioning the Future', a catwalk show at London College of Fashion, in which the 10 exhibiting designers where chosen by Sublime Magazine.

Sarah Fordham

Sarah Fordham is a poet with a wealth of experience in writing, performing and collaborating with other artists. She has been freelancing in publishing for many years, working for Clio Press, MacMillian and Orion. Sarah runs creative writing workshops and is a popular seminar and conference speaker. Sarah is one of the founding members of the Sublime vision.

Clare Dowdy

Clare Dowdy has been writing about business, design and architecture for the last ten years. She is architecture news editor for Wallpaper magazine and contributes regularly to the Financial Times. She also writes for the UK and US design press. Her bete noire is consumerism and the way it seems to have taken over many people's lives.

Verity Magdalino

Verity Magdalino is a London-based, Australian born writer and commentator on design, fashion and social trends. She has written extensively for the UK and US design and fashion press in a career spanning over 10 years. Formerly Senior Editor at WGSN ( wgsn.com), the international news and trend forecasting service, Verity is currently specialising in trend research, developing future concepts for Nokia Design.

Nick Wyke

Nick gave up a postgraduate law course to move to Italy for four years where he taught English and worked at the Foreign Press Centre in Rome. He has been a journalist for more than ten years now and works as a special reports editor and features writer for The Times, specialising in food and drink. He has contributed to London guides, written the history chapter for Time Out Athens and his first book, The Insider’s Guide to Rome, was published in 2004.

George Luke

London-born George Luke grew up in Sierra Leone , where he developed a taste for music just slightly outside the box. He has lived in London since returning to Britain in the mid-80s. A self-confessed fruit tea freak, he tries to make a living by writing articles and making radio programmes.

Racha Mourtada

Having never been able to decide between becoming a writer or a scientist, Racha Mourtada majored in Biomedical Engineering as an undergraduate, worked as a research assistant and web editor with the UN in Beirut and is now venturing into advertising after having completed a Master's degree in Communication Policy Studies. She is particularly interested in using communications for social development, has been attempting to start a novel for some time, and has designed a short story website (www.umbrellastories.com) for her and other aspiring writers to display their work. She has lived in Saudi Arabia, Boston and London, and currently resides in Beirut.

Karen McIntyre

Karen McIntyre is a London-based writer. She became involved with Sublime in its early days and is a regular contributor. Karen has worked for the regional and national press specialising in ethical lifestyle.

Helen Van Kruyssen

After two years of teaching English and writing in her spare time, Helen worked as a film and TV critic, and sub-editor for numerous film magazines and papers including Time Out, Scotland on Sunday, The Observer and The Guardian. She has written several travel features and was deputy editor on Film Four’s film magazine and the Time Out Guide to Vienna. In 2003 she took a course in Children’s Fiction at the ‘Gotham Writer’s Workshop’ in New York. The Seven Tails of Scrumblewoode is Helen’s first novel. She lives in West London.

Rakesh Mathur

Rakesh Mathur is an international photo-journalist and documentary filmmaker. Currently, he has been working on the subject of ecotourism. Most recently he travelled to Goa , Brazil , St. Sebastian, Malta and Japan to research for a documentary on this subject. He has been working in Britain , France , Germany , India and the U.S. He has contributed to television companies, print and radio. His recent work includes consultation for the BBC News and writing for Overseas Trade Magazine.

Tom Willcocks

Tom Willcocks is a London-based lifestyle and fashion photographer whose client list includes BHS, TK Max and Ferrari. When shooting fashion he prefers to use real people, such as break dancers, singers and martial art experts, instead of conventional models. This gives a more realistic, inspirational and interesting feel to his work.

Sándor Hatvany

Sándor Hatvany is an entrepreneur, traveller and musician presently developing the first in a series of express fitness centres for women in London, Islington. Sándor's colourful musical career has seen him circumnavigate the globe, travelling and performing both solo and in a variety of musical ensembles as a singer and violinist. In his earlier career he developed and delivered educational programmes on entrepreneurship and conservation in South London and Madagascar respectively.

Marcos Bevilacqua

Marcosis Brasilian, a photographer with over ten years experience, has been based in London since 1998 in his fully equipped digital studio on the ground floor of a converted Victorian School. His clients vary from furniture, product, interiors and fashion designers to financial institutions and corporate publishing Houses. He has been involved in projects such as the catalogue for "Hidden Art" designers exhibiting at "100% Design".

John Grant

John Grant co-founded St Luke’s the innovative and socially aware London ad agency. Working with clients such as the Body Shop as well as mainstream brands, St Luke’s pioneered the view of a company’s “Total Role in Society”. Since leaving in 1999 he has worked as an independent consultant. John’s recent clients include IKEA, innocent, LEGO, O2.

George Clode

George works as editorial assistant for Sublime and enjoys contributing the occasional feature. He has worked as a freelance writer and music reviewer for a number of publications, and plays regular gigs around London with two different bands.

Leo Kent

Leo is an assistant editor at Sublime magazine. He also contributes for other publications including The Sunday Telegraph and Notes From The Underground. Leo completed his Masters in Journalism from LCC in 2009.
